Richard M. Englert,
President of Temple University
Richard M. Englert is currently serving as Temple’s president for the 2023–2024 academic year while a search for a new president is underway. This marks Englert’s third term as the university’s chief executive officer, previously serving as president from 2016 to 2021, and as acting president in 2012. For more than 45 years, President Englert has led Temple and remained an engaged member of the university community across various roles, including dean of the College of Education and chancellor.
Honoring President JoAnne A. Epps
The entire Temple University community mourned the loss of JoAnne A. Epps, our 13th president, who passed away on Sept. 19, 2023. She spent nearly 40 years of her life serving students, faculty, staff and alumni, and her loss will reverberate through the community for years to come.
