Momentum is building at Temple University as we align around a shared vision and the concrete actions required to bring that vision to life. Last month, we launched Forward with Purpose: Temple University’s Strategic Plan. Anchored in Student Success, Research in Action and Place-based Impact, it will guide our decisions and investments in the years ahead.
The first half of the spring semester has been an exciting one. In January, we were honored to host Global Citizen’s 31st annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service regional signature project, which is the largest event of its kind in the nation. Then, just one week later, our jazz band made us proud as it took first place in the 2026 National Collegiate Jazz Championship. Congratulations to Director Terell Stafford and all these exceptionally talented students.
Earlier this week, I was pleased to announce that Elizabeth A. Wentz (Libby) has been named senior vice president and provost. A seasoned higher education leader with extensive experience in the areas of academic planning, faculty affairs, student success and university partnerships, Libby is uniquely qualified to help us reach our goals and maximize our impact.
Thank you all for the many ways you support Temple and our students. We are a stronger university because of your commitment, and I look forward to building on this momentum throughout the semester and beyond.
